The room had a kitchen with a dining area, which was perfect for our family. We could easily cook and eat meals together. The private bathroom was fully equipped with toiletries and a shower, and it was a great convenience for the kids. The air conditioning in the double room was a real blessing during the hot weather. The electric kettle in the room made it easy for us to enjoy a cup of tea whenever we wanted. The seating area in the room was cozy and comfortable, allowing us to relax and unwind after a long day. The private entrance gave us a sense of privacy and made us feel at home. We loved sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view during the evenings.
Personally, I didn't find the shower in the private bathroom very powerful, but others might still find it satisfactory.

The value for money at this hotel was great. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect, just a 2-minute walk to the beach. The staff treated us exceptionally well, making us feel right at home.
Breakfast delights, but it could have been even better with more variety.

I absolutely loved the care and attention given by the family at this guest house. the rooms were clean and well-organized, and the breakfast, cooked by the mother, was a delightful traditional Sri Lankan feast. I also appreciated their flexibility with meal times, allowing me to enjoy my yoga sessions before eating. the shady garden was a perfect spot to relax, read, chat, and enjoy my meals. the upcoming development of the property, including bigger rooms and stunning views, has me excited for my next visit. the family's friendliness and helpfulness added to the overall wonderful experience. As a solo traveler, this simple and tranquil setup was perfect for me. I've learned that you don't have to spend much to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and Hasmal House offered great value for money. Highly recommended.
Felt most welcome, no complaints at all.

During my transit in Dickwella, I stayed at Hiriketiya Hasmal House, a conveniently located hotel just 55 km away from the nearest airport.
The rooms had windows that opened up to the hallway and kitchen, resulting in a lack of privacy due to excessive noise.

The highlight of our stay was definitely the hot tub. It was like soaking in a bubbling cauldron of relaxation, melting away all our worries. The feeling of warm water and gentle jets massaging our tired muscles was pure bliss. We couldn't get enough of it!

We had an amazing stay at a family-run guest house in a tranquil area so close to the beach. The room was spacious, clean, and had a lovely view. The friendly family went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and even provided a delicious and massive breakfast every morning. The location was perfect for us as we could easily walk to the beach and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. It was so hot that we even decided to sleep on the beach one night!
The bathroom design was small and poorly thought out.

Great location, just a short walk to the beach and away from the hustle and bustle. The room was comfortable and clean, providing a nice home-like feeling. It was nice to have a kitchen available, giving us the option to cook our own meals.
There were some drawbacks during our stay. The room was quite hot and didn't have sufficient ventilation or air conditioning.

We stayed at a homestay just two minutes away from the beach in September and had a great experience. the location was perfect, away from the busy beach but still very close to the ocean. the homestay had a home-like atmosphere and only had two rooms, providing a cozy feeling. the owner and their family were incredibly friendly and helpful. the room was comfortable with a nice bed and clean bathroom. the highlight was the excellent breakfast prepared by the mother, offering delicious traditional Sri Lankan food. We also enjoyed the pleasant garden and the strong wifi connection.
It was a good value for money stay. Cons: Nothing that I didn't like.
